Even though the Mega Man Battle Network series has a following in North America, Capcom decided to pass on publishing Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation outside of Japan. Unlike the other games Rockman EXE 4.5’s focus is on controlling your net navis, indirectly. You can’t direct your net navis with the D-pad instead they move on their own and all you can do is input battle chips. Perhaps Rockman EXE 4.5 is best explained as a PET simulator where you step into the shoes of a net battler. A special edition of the game came bundled with a battlechip gate that plugged into the GBA and players could put in toy battle chips that worked with the game. Spikeman has been hard at work on translating the game into English and the current patch is about 20% done. The menus, battle chips and setup screen are complete, which makes the game playable even if you don’t read Japanese. There is still more work to be done, like translating the entire script. That’s going to be a daunting task, but Spikeman is going all out on his translation project. One patch has the localized US names for the characters such as Mega Man, Protoman and Forte. The other patch is for purists and it keeps the Japanese names for every character.
This patch got my attention to re-join mmbno
I am actually megaman fan but please reffer to me as Lishy
Whoa whoa whoa, somebodies translating Megaman 4.5 and I didn’t get told about it?! I’ve seen the japaneze version, which looks amazing, but an English version will kick ass because I’ll finally be able to play it.
Is there any chance of an estimated date for this? Or where I can get this, like, if I can buy it or have to download a ROM version of it. Prefer to buy it, but some people only make ROMs for cost efficiency.
But wouldn’t translation be pointless if the clock doesn’t work
you wouldn’t be able to get past the first tourny which is near the start of the game.
or is there a ROM with a working clock
I’ve recently been sent an update patch from a friend, with a ROM. If you have the latest VBA [1.8 Beta] with ‘Real Time Clock’ setting enabled, the clock WILL work, in accordance to the time on PC. The patch I recieved from my friend allows chips and the menu options to be english, but at the cost of everything else being gibberish. If people want more information, contact me by E-mail or IM if online at TBH148@hotmail.com.
The patch I have recieved is 20% complete, and not in the works, so it would be cool if this one finished too, especially if it was a GBA cartridge, not ROM.
Umm, hey this sounds kool, I so want to play this game
and BlackDawn, I want to add u to MSN but it says that the email is invalid…
can you give me the info here or something?
is english 4.5 still in progress? is it emulater only or will it be for sale in the U.S.

Oh, yay, MMBNO got to be semi-famous. ^.^
Spikeman has another project, but is prioritizing on this one, because he’s better at this type of programming than the current C+ version of MMBNO right now. The hack translation may be finished in one or two years…
MMBNO stands for Mega Man Battle Network Online and is in progress, currently all we have is movement.
We also have a very insane forum…
