Super Paper Mario coming sooner than expected

The box art we posted up from Super Paper Mario was the real deal, the April 23^rd release date wasn’t. Nintendo sent over an announcement that Super Paper Mario is scheduled for release on April 9^th for the Wii. There aren’t any new details about motion control, but there is a little more about the story: Bowser is getting married to Peach. Also the concept art above gives us a clear look at one of the new characters in the game.

That's certainly good news, as we've waited long enough for Super Paper Mario since its delay and cancellation on the Gamecube (being moved to the Wii).

A traditional Mario platformer (with 2D and 3D gameplay elements from previous installments in the series for the best of both worlds) should be enough to tide me over before being completely stunned by Super Mario Galaxy if it lives up to all the hype.
