Nintendo released a brand new channel in Japan the Minna de Tohyo channel (Everybody Votes) where people can answer a yes or no question. Once you make your choices they are sent to a bigger database through Wii Connect 24. The first question on the list is asking what kind of noodles do you prefer udon or soba. (note: it looks like the Japanese questions are different than the USA ones). Once enough people answer a question you can browse how people are voting around Japan and supposedly the world, but since the channel just got online there is not enough data to show. It’s going to be really interesting to see what happens when Nintendo brings this channel worldwide. International social experiment or is this a cleverly disguised marketing tool?

This question is asking do you like dogs or cats more? Is Nintendo using this data to see if Nintencats is going to be popular?
Very weird indeed… but I like it.
The results are gonna be more interesting than the questions though, obviously.
The first question with whether you like soba or ubon… hehehe… I highly doubt we’ll get that one sadly. heheheh…
I imagine that a lot of people will say this is useless. To them, I say free is free.
While I agree with you to a certain extent, Icupnimpn2, I still hope Nintendo utilizes this Channel to their full advantage not only for user feedback on games but on Virtual Console releases in that same regard. I could really see this being a useful tool for them to get opinions from gamers, I really hope they don’t put it to waste by using this simply as a gimmick.

Right now, knowing if people prefer Cats or Dogs is not going to be very useful for Nintendo, but who knows, if could turn our to be a marketing scheme later on.
