Expanding on Photo Hunt: Machigai Museum 2

Last year Namco Bandai released, Machigai Museum for the Nintendo DS, which is similar to Photo Hunt on the Megatouch machines seen in bars. The top screen and bottom screen have different pictures and players need to touch the differences on the bottom screen. Machigai Museum 2 has new puzzles and a few “challenges” that make spotting the discrepancies slightly more difficult.

Clouds appear on the screen and they occlude where the mistakes are. Players need to blow into the microphone to push them away.

To make the picture with the mistakes appear players need to trace a figure on the touch screen first. After tracing the figure the picture appears for a limited amount of time.

Colored squares with arrows on them block parts of the picture. Players need to remove these arrows by hitting them on the D-pad so they can spot the mistakes.

In multiplayer mode players race to see who can find the differences in the picture first.

Machigai Museum was one of those relaxing games to play and I’m not sure of these extra challenges add anything to the game except annoying players. The game is about spotting differences and instead of having minute details to spot, Machigai Museum goes the Wario Ware route. In the figure tracing challenge the extra lion is so obvious to spot.
