Atlus released Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja in stores today and it’s the underdog compared to big titles like Crackdown and Virtua Fighter 5. Izuna is a rogue-like game for the DS where you guide the spunky female ninja protagonist to restore her clan. I’ve talked a lot about Izuna before (if you missed the previous coverage see it here and here) and it’s worth a look. Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja doesn’t take advantage of any of the DS’ unique features except using the top screen as a map. But it doesn’t have to, Izuna’s success relies on its funny dialogue and hardcore dungeons. If you want a challenge or are into rogue games get it before it becomes rare.
Screw with reviewers, most of the games I like they “diss” on, most from downright weird/bias reasons. I’ll be picking this up later on this month! ^o^
The dialogue done by Atlus is quite hilarious from their site, it’s nice how they put a playful spin on the title, definitely interested in picking up the game. But for now, need to finish “Mother 3″ first. Don’t care much for biased reviews either. I regret skipping Shadow Hearts based on a 5.5 IGN review ages ago, and of course learned my lesson and finished the first game before playing the second, which is one of the best.
Am I the only one who noticed how much she looks like Haruko (FLCL)? O_o

The hair style and goggles, yes. For the rest, she’s all Mai (KoF) :)
Hair color, eye color and colors of outfit too =P
Eyes, probably, hair, yes and no. It varies from pink to orange.
For the outfit, not even close. That’s a Ninja outfit that Izuna is wearing. Haruko wears something like a biker’s outfit (although both red).

I sort of predicted that it wouldn’t be received so well and the first few reviews rather confirm with that. Nintendo Power gave it 6.5, which is a rather low score coming from them.
