This is a big week for Sega with huge releases like Virtua Fighter 5 and Sonic and the Secret Rings heading to store shelves. While those games are based off of their huge franchises, Sega has a more indie title, Crush, in the works for the PSP. In the game you play as Danny who has been placed in a hospital due to insomnia. All he wants to do is sleep, but deep seeded problems in his subconscious prevent him from doing so. Dr. Reubens who is one part a psychologist and one part mad scientist has the solution, a miracle machine that can get to the root of Danny’s problems and gain him respect from his peers, C.R.U.S.H. (Cognitive Regression Utilizing pSychiatric Heuristics). When Dr. Reubens uses the machine Danny enters his subconscious and can terra form the world between 2D and 3D to find the root of his neuroses. The video below shows how Crush is a mix between a platformer and a puzzle game. It’s innovative, but I wonder if enough gamers will take interest in this title say over the usual PSP SRPGs and portable Grand Theft Auto games.
Er, the PSP has SRPGs? Where? It’s got 1 original tactical RPG (Lord of the Rings Tactics), and 3 PS2 ports of Idea Factory games that no one bought
Lets see:
Generation of Chaos, Aedis Eclipse Generation of Chaos, Twelve, Spectral Souls, Disgaea Portable and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War come to mind. Compared to the DS, the PSP is the system for SRPGs

If those gamers decide not to give Crush a try its their lost; they will be missing out on an innovative gaming experience.
Along with Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, Crush has me pretty much sold on getting a PSP in the near future. This is the kind of title that will sell the handheld, original content that you can’t find anywhere else.
