Watch: Playing Boom Boom Rocket

This video gives an idea of how Bizarre Creations’ next Xbox Live title plays. There is a timeline ¾ on top of the screen and players need to hit the correct colored button when the firework reaches the timeline. Time your button press right a firework explodes and the “bonus meter” charges up. Sure it looks basic, but I don’t think Boom Boom Rocket is trying to be something “original”. Instead it’s filling the need for an addictive casual music/rhythm game on the 360. The techno music in the background is composed by Ian Livingstone who is making ten songs for the game.

Oh man, that looks like it could be super fun. XBLA is really amassing a good catelog of games. Between XBLA and Wii’s VC, the PS3 has a lot of competition in this field.

Again, I’m really tempted to go out and buy a 360 right now.
