Mega Man games invade bookstores

By Spencer . March 2, 2007 . 8:14am

Mega Man at Borders? Sort of. In Japan Capcom is selling Mega Man books (with actual ISBN numbers!) with a game guide and a PS1 version of the NES game in one package. The price of admission is 2,730 yen ($23) per book and two are scheduled to come out on March 28, 2007. A clever idea to cash in on Mega Man’s 20th Anniversary, but wouldn’t it be better if Capcom just released Mega Man Anniversary Collection over there?

Rockman is a cash cow in Japan and Japanese are willing to pay over and over for the same thing, so that is why Capcom Japan is not in a hurry to make a compilation. Wish they would, I didn’t want to buy the American versions, but I would pay top dollar for Japanese versions of Rockman and Rockman X collection.

Actually……they sorta already did release MMAC in Japan.
Much of Mega Man Anninversary collection’s content is largely lifted straight out of the six-disc Rockman Complete Works series that was released ages ago on the PSX.
