Puzzle games on this week’s Virtual Console line up in Japan

Four new games came out on the Virtual Console in Japan this week: Yoshi, Lode Runner, Tant-R and the lone PC Engine RPG Double Dungeons. Yoshi is an interesting twist on the Tetris formula where you rotate stacks of Mario themed blocks to clear pieces. Lode Runner is more of an action oriented puzzle game where you have to collect all of the gold in a level while avoiding enemies. Tant-R is the oddity of the puzzle bunch where players run through a maze to catch a group of robbers. Double Dungeons is a dungeon hack & slash game where players wander through long levels to get gold and better equipment. Double Dungeons has been confirmed for a US release and we should see it later this month.
