Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on Xbox Live Arcade this Wed

Next week’s Xbox Live Arcade title is Konami’s classic PS1 game, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It’s being repackaged with new graphics, widescreen support, achievements and enhanced audio. If an upgraded version of Castelvania: SOTN isn’t your thing you can play the original game too. The cost? 800 Microsoft Points ($10). Not a bad deal, considering merchants are selling new “Greatest Hits” copies for $100 over Amazon. Still I can’t see that much that’s “enhanced” in the screen shots below. Notice anything besides the border and fire effects?

This version won’t have the polished translation like the one included with Dracula X PSP will have right? Either way, 800 MS Points isn’t bad for Symphony of the Night. Thankfully I still have my PSOne copy; but repurchasing this game won’t be such a bad thing.

Spencer Says:

I’m pretty sure the translation is the same, there haven’t been any notes about an update and it’s been emphasized that it is the PS1 game.
