Miis on the DS? Nintendo thought about it

During Shigeru Miyamoto’s keynote he went through the history of the Mii project. Surprisingly it dated back to software that was being designed for the Famicom disk system. The Mii project was also being considered for the Nintendo DS and the screenshot above has Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata as a Mii using the DS interface. While the model is notably more blocky than the Wii’s Miis the interface looks similar to the Famicom interface and final Mii interface. I have a video of the Famicom Mii interface system somewhere…

It’s funny Miyamoto has been wanting to do Miis all of his life. I think the facial features on the Famicom disk ver. look too realistic and a little scary though.
