New PS3 firmware is out with Folding@Home

Japan received Playstation 3 firmware version 1.6 with zoom tool for web browsing and background downloading for the Playstation Store. The neato addition is the Folding@Home application where you can use your Playstation 3 as part of a distributed computing network to support Stanford Universitys protein rendering project. PS3 version 1.6 isnt out in North America yet, but you can see a preview of Folding@Home in a video past the break.
