Microsoft unveils the Xbox 360 Elite

It’s a little anticlimactic, but Microsoft officially announced that the Xbox 360 Elite isn’t a fabrication. The new Xbox 360 package comes with a 120 GB hard drive instead of the 20GB hard drive, a HDMI port, a HD cable, headset, wireless controller and a console with a black coat of paint. The Xbox 360 Elite retails for $479.99. If you already have an Xbox 360 you can purchase a 120 GB hard drive separately for $179.99 to hold your collection of South Park, Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes. Microsoft will also sell wireless controllers, headsets and rechargeable battery packs with a black finish if you’re inclined to color coordinate your controllers.

ooo black... I only wish it didn't cost so much just for a black 360... cause if it was the normal price it'd be the one i'd buy when Trusty Bell comes out in english. Assuming I buy a 360, Blue Dragon, and Trusty Bell when I can...

I was all set to buy the new HDD, but they must be out of their damn minds if they think I'm spending 180 bucks on a hard drive.

I spent 200 on a 250 gb one with firewire/usb for my computer, and you want me to drop 180 for one half the size with less functionality? no thanks

$180 is a bit high for a 120Gb, but compared to the regular 20Gb costing $100, it's a much better deal. Imagine the guy who just bought a 20 Gb :) Hard drive is always like that, bigger and cheaper as time goes. I remember a Western Digital 4Gb cost $80 back then. The black is attractive. If I have money I would get this since my 360 is from Jpn and can't play US games.. but $500....

I love it when people whine about the price of the HD. True, it's pretty expensive compared to a desktop computer HD... but when you compare it to a notebook HD, then yah. The 360 HD is a notebook HD... it's still more expensive then that, but not like if you compared it to a desktop HD.

Anyways, let the QQing begin! All I know is that I'm tired of hearing about it from people who can't afford to buy what they want to buy.

I'm still contemplating whether to buy a "XBox 360: Eddie Bauer Edition" or not... I HAVE an HDMI-able LCD TV... but hrmn.
  • looks tight im gettin one cuz its better then that gay ass white one
