Unearthed NES RPG: Dragon Wars

By Spencer . March 28, 2007 . 2:25pm

Virtual console options are slim in America this week, only Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire is released. Things are a little more interesting in Japan where Wonder Boy V: Monster World III, Alien Storm, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Syubibin Man and the surprise addition of Sega’s Dyna Brothers. But why would you want to play something you already know about when you can play a partiality localized NES RPG from Kemco based off a PC port from Interplay? The Lost Levels released an unfinished copy of Dragon Wars that crashes and has awkward text placement. I’m not sure if the picture to the right was an inside joke from the Kemco staff or an example of how the game botches in game text, but that alone makes Dragon Wars worth a look.

I have actually completed the C64 version of Dragon Wars.

It’s been a long while, but I’m PRETTY SURE that text isn’t supposed to be in the game.
