Later this summer Banpresto is going to release Super Robot Taisen Original Generation. Instead of bringing Gundam and Macross to the battle arena the Original Generation series has “original” mecha. Some of the robots are clearly inspired by popular robots, but none of the giant robots in this trailer look like Voltron. While the Super Robot Taisen games were traditionally a Japan-only series, Atlus released Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1 & 2 for the GBA last year. Perhaps they have their eyes on the Playstation 2 game too.
I gave the 1st GBA game a try, and made it about halfway through before giving up. I was hoping for Fire Emblem-style strategy gameplay, but it was too focused on outfitting your mechs with weapons and upgrades and less on strategic battles. Also, the story did not draw me in at all.

I would buy this game in aheart beat if Atlus localizes it for us. I really enjoyed both of the GBA games.
