Microsoft publishing Vampire Rain and Project Sylpheed in North America

By Spencer . April 2, 2007 . 10:06am

Remember how Shane Kim said Microsoft is publishing Project Sylpheed back at GDC? Today Microsoft sent out an announcement that Project Sylpheed is set to come out this summer along with Vampire Rain. While Project Sylpheed is coming out at a lower $39.99 price point Vampire Rain costs the same $59.99 as any other Xbox 360 game. The key element here is Microsoft is helping Artoon, Square-Enix and From Software (Tenchu Z), three Japanese developers sell their titles outside of Japan as a second party publisher. Now that Microsoft has made an agreement with Artoon about Vampire Rain I wonder what is going to happen to the Playstation 3 release that AQ Interactive is planning on publishing later this year.

Good on Microsoft’s part for bringing these titles stateside, and I’m looking forward to Tenchu Z as well. Also pleasing to see Project Sylpheed is being released at a budget-friendly price like EDF 2017 was, makes it that much more of an irresistible title at this selling point.

Owning a Jpn 360, I’m still waiting for the price for both of these to drop, I especially want Square-Enix’s Project Sylpheed. Rain looks cool too.
