A little on how Mario Strikers Charged uses Nintendo Wi-Fi

By Spencer . April 3, 2007 . 10:25am

In North America and Japan Pokemon Battle Revolution is the first online enabled Wii game. Instead Europe gets Mario Strikers Charged, a follow up to Mario Gamecube soccer game, on May 25, 2007. Mario Strikers Charged lets players use Nintendo Wi-Fi to play with people around the world. You can play ranked games and move up leaderboards and unranked games for quick matches with friends. In Mario Strikers Charged players make Mario, Bowser and other mascot characters run with the analog stick, press A to pass and shoot by holding down the B button to charge up a kick. You can also slide tackle other players by shaking the remote and play a mini game where you control your goalie’s hands to block shots from entering your goal. Compared to Pokemon Battle Revolution, which has players select attacks from menus, Mario Strikers Charged has more “action” going on.

When you say ‘quick games’ does this mean you can quickly and effortlessly start an online match without having friend codes for ANY opponent? i.e. can I simply do a quick match ala DS games against a random opponent for ranked and/or unranked games?
