Resident Evil 4: Wii edition is real

Famitsu scans sent in by Alice (thanks!) show that Capcom is developing Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. What’s new in the Wiimake? Motion controlled aiming with the remote and sounds coming out of the Wii remote’s speaker when you reload by shaking the remote and holding the B trigger. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition also adds motion controlled knife slashing and reconfigured action events with Wii remote control. Ada’s extra missions from the PS2 release are also going to be in the Wii-make with added motion control too. Is this enough to get fans to repurchase Resident Evil 4? Or are you hungry for something new like a zombie shooting gallery.

Personally, I will buy it. I always felt cheated that I could never have the crisp Gamecube graphics and extra missions of the PS2 version on the same disk. I think the Wii controls will be very good to the game, too. Plus, Capcom is not charging full price for the game so I think I’ll buy it right away.

“Capcom is not charging full price for the game” There not? Oh in that case…

vysethebold Says:

Yeah, apparently they are setting the price at only $30.

As much as I love Resident Evil 4, I’ll probably end up renting this version. I honestly don’t plan to support any last-gen to Wii ports, no matter what the title.

Having RE 4 on GC, the way I see the situation a quick rental on the weekend would be enough to see everything this port will have to offer, considering it isn’t a very long game in the first place.
