Force feedback comes to Gran Turismo HD… sort of

By Spencer . April 5, 2007 . 10:27am

Gran Turismo HD Concept v. 1.2 comes with a few extra bells and whistles. The free racing game now has worldwide rankings for the ten cars and each mode. Polyphony Digital also updated Gran Turismo HD with force feedback if you’re using one of Logitech’s force feedback steering wheels. That makes Gran Turismo HD the first Playstation 3 game that has force feedback. It’s a little out of the blue that Sony would put so much effort in bringing force feedback into the game after not including the feature in their Sixaxis controller, but here it is. Also on the Playstation 3 network is a demo of Armored Core 4. Sega is giving mecha fans every opportunity to try the game out for free and if you’re into slow moving mecha give it a shot.

It's not really out of the blue, it is because them and immersion kissed and made up. All the other stuff before and the reasons why rumble was left out was simply due to ongoing litigation.

Just so people know this is the same as GT HD 2.0 which was launched on the Euro PS store network when the PS3 Launched In Europe.

Does that mean that the future PS3s sold would have an improved controller w/ rumble? Right now it just doesn't feel right for some reason, too light perhaps.
