Mortal Kombat 2 on the PS3 tomorrow

After a slight delay Sony Online Entertainment announced that Mortal Kombat 2 is coming out for the Playstation 3 tomorrow. Twelve characters and online play await Mortal Kombat fans for the low price of $4.99. It’s a fair price to pay for nostalgia considering NES games cost the same amount of money. However, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is only $15 more and your money might be better spent picking that up.

I know I would have taken Mortal Kombat 2 over UMK 3 on XBLA anyday. It may have more characters, but the dial-a-combos from Mortal Kombat 3 really broke up the focus of the gameplay. That fighting system alone only helped but made the game more complicated than it need be. The MK franchise has always thrived not only on its blood and gore but simplicity as well.

Oh man, I’m glad I bought a $$$ next gen console so that I can play these old emulated games.

yeah I have to agree with moi, more Gripshift and Tekken 5, less games I can get as part of the Midway Compilations for $1 a game. and while I’m bitching, more demos. how do I know if Untold Legends is as bad as everyone says if I can’t try it?
