NiGHTS: Journey into screenshots

Famitsu has a new set of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams screenshots to check out. It’s easy to get excited about NiGHTS because the Wii screenshots have colorful trippy graphics that the Saturn couldn’t produce. However, I’m still skeptical about NiGHTS on the Wii. Some of the features like using data from the forecast channel sound neat, but there isn’t much known about the control set up. One of the things that made NiGHTS revolutionary at the time was the analog stick. Of course analog sticks are standard now, so Sega must be experimenting with motion control. Hopefully the result won’t be like Wing Island, which had a creative idea of using tilt control to fly a group of planes, but poor execution in the final release.

Looks great. Not to be pessimistic or anything, but all we can do is pray, show us you can do it Sonic team.
  • Yes. Here's hoping Sonic Team does NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams justice on the Wii. I think the selling point will most likely be the use of the Wiimote which, now that I think about it, doesn't sound half bad.

They said they'd be using 2 different control schemes, and players could pick between them:
    - the original analog stick control
    - wiimote control

    so, no worries here.

The game looks like it could be good, but I'm not liking NiGHTS look (I mean the character, not the game). He always seems to have that smiley expression on his face and it never seems to change.

Yeah I have to agree with Marco, but it may just be an early model. One of the coolest thing in the saturn version was his acrobat animations so perhaps they are still working on that. But one thing I hope they don't mess up is their unique music system that changes depending on how you treat the Pians. Hey I don't know about other people, but I always like their music :) I also wish they would bring back the original and Christmas nights too... :D
