Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition designed for “beginners”

By Spencer . April 30, 2007 . 1:05pm

There has been this video floating around with a translated interview from Famitsu where Masachika Kawata (producer) and Minoru Nakai (director) talk about how they adjusted the difficulty in Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition. Since some Wii owners are considered newbies to the video game world Resident Evil 4 Wii adds in two new difficulty settings easy and amateur where locking on to targets is not as difficult. Knife control has also been tweaked so you don’t have to aim with the knife, you just slash away with the Wii remote. While this is probably disappointing for Resident Evil fans, Capcom’s decision makes sense since Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition can be a gateway to a new audience. Even the price point is screaming “try me out” for new Wii owners since it’s only $29.99 compared to a standard $49.99 per game.

Mr. Mee Says:

Well as long as they have normal, hard, etc difficulty settings as well…I’m fine. I’ll still want it.

That’s a good plug, it’s funny the guy said at the end “it’s cheap, buy it”.
