Bomberman coming to Xbox Live Arcade

Hudson announced that they plan to release Bomberman for the Xbox Live Arcade this summer. The Xbox 360 release has online multiplayer for up to eight players, HD graphics and a character customization mode where you can design your own Bomberman out o 10,000 possible configurations. As you can see above there are some interesting options like pirate Bomberman with a wooden hook hand and football player Bomberman in the right hand corner. Customizing your Bombeman sounds neat and it’s a good way for players to remember who blew them up so they can quickly enact revenge.

No doubt a port from the PC game Bomberman Online. Guess this must be coming out for the Wii console as well since Hudson said that they’d be making original games (none-virtual console) for Wii.

This is going to be awesome. It may not be the Saturn Bomberman that I wanted, but I’ll take it. I’m forcing myself to forget that god-aweful “future” bomberman game Hudson released last year.

What were they thinking releasing that awful Halo-like bomberman, the realistic graphics look so bland and dull. and it truly “bombed” :)…

After Bomberman’s horrific next-gen debut on the 360, I definitely think a return to the series roots with online play via XBLA is the best logical step for the franchise. That should help wash away the horrible memories of Bomberman: Act Zero.
