Chunsoft continues Pokemon’s Mysterious DungeonThis fall Chunsoft has two new DS titles in the Pokemon’s Mysterious Dungeon series where the hero turns into a Pokemon at the beginning of the game. There are five starting Pokemon you can play as: Pikachu, Muchlax, ChimChar, Turtwig, and Piplup (the three starting Pokemon in Diamond/Pearl). The gameplay in the Pokemon’s Mysterious Dungeon series is “roguelike” similar to Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja where after each step all the other Pokemon in the dungeon move on their own. A new feature in this set of Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon games is online play through Nintendo WiFi.

Huge Chunsoft/Fushigi no dungeon fan here, although I’ve yet to try the first PMD.

Aside from the excellent Izuna, there’s also Shiren (which I would love to see translated someday)

The Nightmare of Druaga is on my top 3 games of all time list.

The original Pokemon Rescue Team had watered-down gameplay, too many bonus dungeons, missing roguelike features (no item ID or meaningful equipment), and fairly low difficulty.
