Project Treasure Hunter Z’s new name

By Spencer . May 16, 2007 . 6:31pm

Capcom sent an e-mail with a new name for their upcoming Wii title, previously known as Project Treasure Hunter Z.

Just a quick ping to let you know that Project Treasure Island Z (working title) for Wii has a final name.  Henceforth, it shall be known as Zack & Wiki™: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure.

Project Treasure Hunter Z Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure begins with Zack, a young pirate who finds the talking skull of the legendary pirate Barabros. Players use the Wii remote as a key to open doors, as a handle to turn cranks and for other puzzles scattered across the island. Capcom has Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure scheduled to come out sometime this fall in North America.

Looks like a fun game w/ many puzzles, I quite like the cute graphics.

Despite the game’s new and long name change, I’m really looking forward to this game. Original, new content that actually makes use of the Wiimote is exactly what Nintendo’s next-gen system needs. I seriously prefer when Capcom called it Treasure Hunter Z though, a little part of me finds the title change completely unnecessary.
