From manga to strategy RPG: Magician’s Academy

Enterbrain is releasing a new strategy RPG based on Ichiro Sakaki’s manga Magician’s Academy on June 7. Being a manga based SRPG makes Magician’s Academy stand out a little, but I’m not familiar with the manga to tell how different the Playstation 2 game is. Game Watch has screenshots of the game and some character art to see. What strategy RPG does the art remind you of?

Well, duh Says:

“What strategy RPG does the art remind you of?”

All of them. Seriously, they all look the same.

I’m not too into SRPGs like Disgaea due to time constraint, but I must admit the characters here look very cute. I mean they have fairies called “moe seirei” plus the neko-mimi cat ears and all. I love the one wearing the panda suit, irresistable :)

Roli Says:

I’d say the game’s art reminds me a lot more of Summon Night and, more recently, Dragon Shadow Spell than it does Disgaea. It’s a good thing SRPGs are still alive in Japan; makes me wonder why SRPG love here in the West is very, very slim :|

I’ll buy as long as it includes a cute female android and a dominatrix.. Oh.. Wait.. I’m sold!
