Guitar Hero III to rock four consoles this fall

Activision announced they are going to release Guitar Hero III on the Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Wii. The bundle comes out in the fall with a customizable wireless guitar controller. Specifically, for the Playstation 2 Activision is bundling an exclusive Guitar Hero controller, the classic Kramer guitar from Gibson, while other bundles ship with a replica of Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul model. Wireless guitars sound nice, but the real reason to get Guitar Hero III is for new songs. Here is a quick glance of what songs you can thrash to:

•    Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
•    Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
•    Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
•    The Metal (by Tenacious D)
•    My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
•    Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
•    Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
•    School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
•    Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
•    Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
•    Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

Well, since there’s an SP song in there I’ll have to get this version.

Now, the only thing left to decide is, out of all the versions of Guitar Hero that Activision plans to release this fall, which platform should one invest for in purchasing the game.

Most likely, I’ll probably go for the PS2 release, as I already own the previous GH titles on the console. Only makes more sense to do so considering 1 and 2 is in my collection, I have a feeling it would look very nice next to its predecessors.

The exclusive Kramer guitar is only the icing on the cake and is a major selling point to the PS2 version for me. I’d love to rock out to classics like School’s Out and Rock And Roll All Nite using this, not to mention it would make for a nice collector’s item.

well, this should be very exiting and im looking forward to how hard the songs will be.In guitar hero 1 the songs were very easy (I can beat expert). In guitar hero2 the songs much harder than guitar hero 1(I can beat hard). So in guitar hero 3 they should be almost impossibleMost likely I’m only going to be able beat medium if this pattern continues)! I’m also looking forward to what the hardest song will be. I hope its another song by “Bukethead”.
