Xbox Live says Dead or Alive 4 is mighty magnificent

The new system update revamped the Xbox Live Marketplace by adding in genres and game descriptions instead of only having the game’s title. Ninety Nine Nights is billed as fantasy action and Guitar Hero II is a music rhythm game. Most of these make sense, except for Dead or Alive 4 which has the genre “incredible fighting game”. The description “mighty magnificent stimulating graceful fighting!” is pretty laughable too. Since the spring dashboard update just came out this could be an oversight since Chromehounds has “test” as its genre, an inside joke from someone on the Xbox Live team or “superliminal” (hey you join the navy!) advertising. You be the judge.

You might want to re-think your mockery of this magnificent fighting game. Or Itagaki-san may come to your door, beat the snot out of you, and then force you to play DOA Xtreme 2 until you enjoy it!

Spencer Says:

Heh! I never meant Dead of Alive 4 was bad, just the accompanying text and genre. Most of the other games have polished entries talking about gameplay and Dead or Alive 4 has that.

Angelous Says:

Haha! I know what you meant Spencer; that description is really hilarious. I can imagine a drunk Itagaki-san typing that into the Xbox Live servers.

It reminds me of the “Super Terrific Happy Hour” on Seinfeld :)

Aoshi00 Says:

BTW, in the Jpn text, it only says “the most beautiful fighting game”, guess they goofed on the Eng. description or somebody just ate a mushroom. It would be funny if they put “super duper bouncy bouncy..” for DOA xtreme volleyball..

I think that if Itagaki san breaks into your house, you’ll have more to be worried about than videogames when he has his ways with you.
