Battle of the Microsoft releases: Shadowrun versus Forza 2

Usually companies split up releasing games and a single title comes out for a system in a week to make sure they don’t cannibalize their sales. Instead of following the industry trend, Microsoft has two anticipated releases coming out on the same day Shadowrun and Forza Motorsport 2.  I’ve had a chance to play both and I’m tipping my hat to Shadowrun for being innovative. Adding in teleporting, races and magic to a Counterstrike skeleton works out pretty well. That’s my pick, but what about you? If you could only get one of these X360 releases which would you choose?

Shadowrun I LOL @ that game.

The lack of a single player campaign makes Shadowrun an instant pass for me. I would’ve bought Forza, but the Colin Mcrae DiRT demo was so much fun I think I’ll hold off and buy that instead.

Shadowrun, if only for the slim chance of Microsoft following up on their promise of delivering a true sequel to the game by making the successor an adventure title. Essentially, if what they said is to be believed, this FPS is dependent on whether we see a proper Shadowrun title, something Microsoft really should have announced last year at E3.

Forza 2 and DiRT are two completely different games catering for different audiences, but if I had to choose between both racers, I’d definitely go with DiRT. I can see myself spending most of my time playing it over Forza 2. All the same, it should make for a nice rental over the weekend to see everything the game has to offer, especially in the customizable aspect.
