Pirates everywhere in the US only on Nintendo in Japan imagesLove it or hate it after a week at the box office Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End made a boatload of money for Disney. In North America Disney Interactive has a video game tie in out for nearly every “living” system, seven releases total including PC and Playstation 2 versions. Things are different in Japan where for some odd reason Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is a Nintendo exclusive. Disney Interactive is only selling the Wii and DS versions instead of taking advantage of the huge PS2 install base or the high end graphics of the Playstation 3. While Disney Interactive is dropping their multiplatform strategy they are aggressively promoting the movie tie in with actor Geoffrey Rush in a press junket playing Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on the Wii.
