Watch: Buso Renkin gameplay movies

On June 28 Marvelous is going to release the first Buso Renkin game on the Playstation 2. From the gameplay video it doesn’t look that much different from Dynasty Warriors or any other generic anime game. But hey you get to play as Kazuki, Tokikio and Koshaku who wield alchemic weapons. The footage looks bland since the enemies don’t have a lot of variation and I can imagine pressing the same button throughout the entire game. The TV commercial doesn’t look much better either. I was thinking about picking it up, but after watching these videos I have serious doubts about it.

I’m a huge Busou Renkin fan too and have contemplated in getting the game, I mean Papillon has his own theme park and all, but it does look awfully bland and generic, not too different from the lackluster Kenshin PS2 game… Info posted on the website did little to peak my interest.

This title is just screaming for a 2-D Guilty Gear-like fighting game and it’s disappointing it’s not being made as such.
