Characters in Itadaki Street DS

Part (most?) of what is grabbing a lot of people’s attention towards Itadaki Street DS is the mash up of mascots. From the Square-Enix side you have Dragon Quest characters, redrawn to look younger and from Nintendo you have characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Here is a glance of what characters are going to appear in Itadaki Street DS.

Slime (Dragon Quest)

Jessica (Dragon Quest VIII)

Dragonlord (Dragon Quest I)

Pudding (Dragon Quest II)

Bianca (Dragon Quest V)

Angelo (Dragon Quest VIII)

Yangus (Dragon Quest VIII)

Princess Alena (Dragon Quest IV)

There are there additional Dragon Quest characters that will appear in Itadaki Street DS that are not currently announced. See the cast of characters from Nintendo on the next page.

Gah… I feel near-crippled by the overwhelming cuteness!

Angelous Says:

I hope this get released in the US

badfish Says:

I reallydoubt this would ever be released in the U.S. However, its cool to see characters from past Dragon quest games. My personal favorite is Bianca from V.

Siliconera, keep the coverage coming!

John H. Says:

It just occurred to me that the Dragon Quest VIII characters really do have a lot of personality. When I think of Yangus from that game, the main impression that comes to mind is Pure Awesome, which is saying a lot for an overweight cockney-spouting slob in boxers and with a shell on his head.

Angelous Says:

I don’t see why it wouldn’t get released. Its on the DS, it has Nintendo Characters, its similiar to Mario Party, Square-Enic made it. Yeah… sounds like a money marker with the right marketing to me.

Aoshi00 Says:

I wouldn’t mind playing this game since I skipped the first one, guess the cute characters from both Mario and DQ got to me :) The voice acting in VIII definitely added a lot to the game because there was no voice acting at all in the Jpn version, Angelo and Jessica all sounded cool, Yangus’s “gov” is funny as well.

badfish Says:

Nintendo could make money easily with this game if they added the wi fi.

Nintendo currently has more “family” games. This game could be used to eventually get grandma and grandpa hooked with a simple but addictive type gameplay.

Then for the “hardcore” gamers add hidden playable characters from the nintendo and Enix universe.
