Way back when Sony announced the Playstation 3 Koei had two titles on the list Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War and Fatal Inertia. While Fatal Inertia, Koei’s take on Wipeout, has a vague 2007 release window, Bladestorm is finally going to come out in Japan this August on the Playstation 3. Since Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War is made by the same team that developed Dynasty Warriors, Omega Force, expect it to be more of the same with a European backdrop.

In North America Dynasty Warriors has a dedicated fanbase, but with so many releases the series is getting tired. Is a setting change enough to make Bladestorm standout from Orochi Warriors?

Hm… gameplay looks a little bland, will have to see.. the setting is definitely intriguing though.
