Monsters in Dragon Quest Swords

Monsters in Dragon Quest SwordsIn just over a month Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors comes out in Japan. Dragon Quest Swords isn’t an RPG or even an action RPG. It has much more in common with the arcade game Blade of Honor where you swing a sword at the screen, except you are hitting slimes instead of samurai. Compared to Kenshin Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest Swords on the Wii looks much better and there are many more monsters to fight.

Dragon Quest Swords isn’t scheduled to come out until 2008 in North America, but we can arrange some advance coverage of it in July if you want to read it. Check out these monsters and let us know if you want more Dragon Quest Swords coverage in the future.

That will be great, this game looks alright and if it doesn’t come out at America until 2008, I’ll hate to think when it comes out in Europe :s. As I live there :(

    That soulless, smiling slime….

If monster strength were determined by creep-out factor, slimes would have 250 hit dice, could level-drain with a glance and be worth 30 trillion experience to kill. And just imagine what a metal slime would be worth….

Dragon Quest Swords has rarely been in the limelight among Square-Enix’s top-tier franchises, so this is the perfect title for Siliconera to cover. The visual style perfectly captures the look and feel of the DQ world. It’s charming, and while the 3D graphics don’t really stand out, the monster’s vibes alone such as the series mainstays slimes should be enough to grab your attention.
