The Agency is open for all

Sony Online Entertainment officially announced the first Playstation 3 MMO, the Agency. The espionage setting makes the Agency standout in a crowd of fantasy themed virtual worlds. Gameplay-wise there is shooting, a lot of shooting. Actually when I think back to the presentation where I saw the Agency there was shooting and driving after a car fell down from a giant crate into the middle of a city. I did an interview with Matt Wilson, Studio Manager over at Sony Online Entertainment Seattle, for Gamasutra where we talked about how the Agency always connects people to their world through some nifty gimmicks.

 

The skinny is while you’re going through your real life daily grind, operatives (called “living loot”) build cars for you and go on missions. If one of your absent minded operatives gets caught you will get a SMS message asking if you want to save their life by texting “1” to give the kidnappers a million dollars or let them die by not responding. No matter if you’re on a hot date or smack in the middle of a multi billion dollar corporate takeover presentation the Agency is always with you!
