This is the second time this month something popped up with Valcom Games. After listing Dai Senryaku Exceed, Gamefly has Crazy Frog Arcade Racer as a Playstation 2 game in their database. It’s sort of unbelievable, but after having a hit ringtone the Lightwave generated frog landed a number one single on the UK music charts. Since the Crazy Frog character was marketable he was brought into the video game world in 2005 care of Digital Jesters.
Remember how Sony Computer Entertainment America had standards about what could and could not be published on the Playstation 2? Working Designs had to sell the two Growlanser games together to get their stamp of approval and SNK was not allowed to bring SNK versus Capcom Chaos to North America. If Crazy Frog Arcade Racer comes out, it’s a sign that Sony must have relaxed on their policies… a lot. If the floodgates are truly open a savvy publisher should call Cave up to bring their shmups outside of Japan.
Not only that, SvC was such a huge insult to the (2D)fighting game fanbase, I’ll bet this game is actually better.

those other games encountered opposition because they were 2d. no matter how much of a festering turd this frog racer may be or not be, it’s 3d, and 3d is always okay with sony.
