Out of the shadows and coming out in English, Tingle RPG

Out of the shadows and coming out in English, Tingle RPG imagesIt’s been almost a year since we mentioned Tingle RPG Mogitate Tingle no Bara Iro Rupee Land, but Europe just landed a release date for Tingle’s pseudo RPG debut. The title has been renamed to Freshly Picked – Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland and it will come out in the third quarter of 2007. The fate of Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland is yet to be determined in North America, but I have a hard time believing that this is going to be a Europe-only release. If Nintendo is going to invest time and money to localize in English, it is likely to come to North America. If it doesn’t well… thank goodness the Nintendo DS is region free!

Sweet Jeebus yes! I'll be importing this straight away from over the pond. I hope a firm release date is announced soon!

Never heard of the game. I guess its time for some gaming research.
  • I wonder how will the localizers deal with Tingle's uh...personality.

I know they are sort of unrelated... but portable RPGs such as Ys Strategy, Breath of Fire III and Tales of Eternia ONLY came out in Europe. Makes no sense, I know. I as well would import this, but I believe it's only a matter of time before a NA date is announced.
  • @jeffx - very true. It's strange that Europe gets those RPGs and we don't. Specifically, Tales of Eternia was new for Europe so I guess that's why Ubisoft decided to bring it over. We missed out on getting Doshin the Giant too even though Nintendo localized it, but that was a trade off since we got Cubivore. Considering how many games Europe missed out on and had to import from NA I guess its fair we have to do the same once in a blue moon!

I believe it has to do with sales volume. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft spend millions on research and such. I'am sure they have some weird reason why they are doing this.

Try playing it before you start being thankful...
