Watch: Making a character in Itadaki Street DS

By Spencer . June 22, 2007 . 2:32am

I picked up a copy of Itadaki Street DS since people have been posting positive comments about the coverage and genuinely seemed interested in the game. Even if I’m a little burnt out on the series, I can’t imagine too many other outlets covering the title so I want to give everyone something to read about. Late this evening I found a copy of Itadaki Street DS at my door just waiting to be played. I didn’t have the time to jump in the game and get a taste of it yet, but I want to give you guys and gals a first look at the character creation system in Itadaki Street DS.

Unlike the other games in the Itadaki series you are not restricted to playing as a mascot character. The focus in Itadaki Street DS seems like it is more about earning accessories for the custom character you make by choosing eyes, hair and outfit before you start out on your board game journey. Take a look at what kinds of characters you can initially build in the video past the break.

Hey, Spencer, how many of these Itadaki street series are there? Also do you think its a good idea to import the game, since it is text heavy?

  • John H.

ARGH, unpausable autoplay video! My ears!

  • @badfish – tons. The series dates back to the NES days and it hasn’t exactly “evolved”, the characters are what makes each game different. It’s really text heavy too so I wouldn’t recommend importing it… well you’ll see more about it soon and you can make up your mind :)

Thanks for the information, and the good work man. Keep us small niche gaming news coming back for more. Thats amazing also that this game series has been going on for so long. I can see why you said youre a little burnt on the series.

Thanks for your continuing coverage of this game! I’m heading out to Chiba for the World Hobby Fair and Mobile Electronics Show today and will probably pick up itadaki street DS on my way home!
