Virtual Console outlook for Japan in July: Catch up time

By Spencer . June 29, 2007 . 11:28am

waverace.jpgThere are some new games in Japan’s list this month such as Wave Race 64 and Shining Force. However, we already have Castelvania, Splatterhouse and NES Open Tournament Golf. Hajimari no Mori (Forest of Beginning) is probably the most interesting game on the list, since it’s a distant relative to the Animal Crossing series. In the text adventure you play as a boy takes a train into the woodland town.

Coming out on Tuesday, July 3rd:

Famicom

Star Soldier

Flappy

Mega Drive

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master

Damn, Paper Mario, Wave Race 64, and Dynamite Heady. My Virtual Console addiction is getting expensive. Thats $28 USD right there.

Makes me wish Nintendo would drop the prices :(

John H. Says:

Hey, they’re getting Shiren too.

Shinobi III is a timeless classic, I love that game. If I already didn’t own it on the Sega Genesis Collection, I’d buy it again on the Virtual Console in a instant without hesitation. The only game I would possibly look forward to more on the VC is Revenge of Shinobi.

Not that ROS is a better game than its predecessor, on the contrary I found Shinobi III to be arguably the better game, but simply because Revenge of Shinobi wasn’t included on the aforementioned Sega Genesis Collection.
