ADV picks up the Devil May Cry anime series

dmcanime.jpgAt Anime Expo ADV Films announced they have acquired the rights to the twelve episode Devil May Cry anime series. This isn’t the first video game anime series ADV has the rights to. Last week ADV Films announced they picked up the Xenosaga anime and the first DVD will arrive in stores this September.

In related licensing news Geneon announced they picked up the rights the Deltora Quest anime series, which originates from a series of Australian kid’s books. Deltora Quest has been pretty popular in Japan and Namco Bandai has a Nintendo DS game based on the anime set to come out September 20. If Deltora Quest airs on USA TV there is a sliver of a chance the Nintendo DS game could get localized for the rest of the world.

Viz Media made noted the first DVD volume of Death Note will come out November 20 and new DVDs will come out each month. They hope Adult Swim will air Death Note, but no official plans have been announced.

I hope they use the game voices, and not try to match the Japanese

And Deathnote, I am looking forward to the DVDs. I hope the dub is alright

The Devil May Cry anime may got style but looks pretty boring so far, most games just don’t make good anime series unfortunately, w/ Xenosaga being an atrocious example (w/ awful animation quality to boot).

We’ve always been hearing Dante speak English, so it’s better they stick to the original cast. It’s interesting Metal Gear Solid started off w/ Jpn voice-over on the PSX then all the PS2 sequels are in Engish, and now MGS4 on the PS3 would sport Jpn voice again just like the original game.

Death Note is a worthy series to collect on the DVDs too even though I’ve watched the whole series alrdy, curious to see how the Eng. dub sounds.

    DEVIL MAY CRY MOVIE.

The Devil May Cry anime series out on TV in Japan so Hollywood has still has the movie in development by Gaga Entertainment.
Another film company Threshold Entertainment should get the rights to the Devil May Cry series with $50 million US feature film.
So Capcom should get into talks with Threshold to work on Devil May Cry and Darkstalkers series.
So now DMC animated series will be out on DVD when it will come out to Australia.
    Thank You.
