Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is scheduled to come out sometime this month and as its release looms it should get extra attention. The concept of Rune Factory is to take the farming part from Harvest Moon and fuse medieval role playing elements in it. The hero swings a sword and farms, like a serf in Ultima. The sword has a purpose; you need it to battle beasts. However, you don’t always want to draw your blade. As seen in the trailer you can befriend beasts like the giant bull by walking up and petting them.
@jeffx - Yeah its for the DS and the top screen usually has a map. When you mess with your inventory the touch screen is used. Natsume has not announced an official date change yet so I’m sticking with the “sometime in July” window even though retail outlets sacked Rune Factory with August 14.
I have a massive backlog on Harvest Moon games, so it’ll be awhile before I play Rune Factory. It looks so good, and I like the fantasy elements.

Nintendo DS, right? I thought the release date was mid-August. How are the two screens used?
