Crushing even the tiniest hope that Beautiful Katamari might get a Playstation 3 release is the official site. Previously on the bottom there were blurbs for mentioning the tiny prince would be rolling on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. The Playstation 3 specs have been removed and Namco Bandai erased it from their lineup of Playstation 3 games.

Namco Bandai has been quietly sweeping the PS3 version under the rug by excluding it in their fact sheet and their list of E3 games, now they are confirming it to the public too.

The 360 really needs all the exclusives it can get. I actually haven’t played any Katamari games yet, so this might be my first one.

360 doesn’t need exclusives as much as the PS3 does (and the PS3 needs them bad), since most of the time any cross-platform games are better on the 360 mostly due to it’s superior online service. Exclusives are just icing on the cake, but it certainly doesn’t need them as much as the PS3.

As for not ever playing a Katamari game, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s fun, quirky, very different when it first came out. Very fun.

Well 360 might be in 2nd place after Wii over here. But in Jpn, the 360’s sales is dismal w/ the exception of times when good JRPGs came out (Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon). PS3 is getting a boost from Minna no Golf 5 and My Summer Vacation 3, those are all hot system sellers. And as we all know, it’s only a matter of tme before all the must-haves come out on the PS3, so I wouldn’t really worry about it. I don’t know how much loss Sony is taking now, but w/ the recent warranty extention fiasco, MS is losing money big time despite the great online service. That’s why the 360 needs to rebuild consumer’s confidence and have more exclusives that make people want the system (espeically in Japan). If not for the above 2 mentioned games, I wouldn’t have bought my Xbox yet.

I hear you, I kept waiting for the first Katamari to drop to $9.99, but that time never came, lol..
