For the few people who recognize the name, AQ Interactive announced they are going to publish Arcana Heart on October 11. Arcana Heart is a 2D fighting game developed by Yuki Enterprises with school girls. It has a cutesy look to it, but Arcana Heart is designed for hardcore fighting fans. Air dashes and fast fighter customization through ten different arcanas made it popular in Japan. I doubt it’s going to get a US release, but through the power of importing you can crush other players with a girl riding a green blob.

is it just me, or do japanese game developers just make up genres for their games all the time? i mean, what in the hell is “heartful 2d fighting action”? i’ve played the game. i don’t recall anything particularly “heartful”, whatever that means.

There are a few arcade cabinets (about 3 I know of) of Arcana Heart here in the U.S.
I doubt we’ll see an official PS2 port here too, though.

If you like Melty Blood, this should be up your alley.
