The Rumor That Won’t Die: MGS4 semi-confirmed for Xbox 360?

If you had a nickel for every time a newfound rumor of Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to the story was posted, you'd more than likely be a pretty rich person. Perhaps not rich enough to pay off your mortgage or even your student loan, but you'd have enough money to know that there's just something about the rumor that won't die.

Kazumi Kitaue, head of Konami's North American and European operations, feels that the recently confirmed price drop of the Playstation 3 may not be enough for Sony to actually move more units than it hopes to move because the console, even now priced at $499, is still too expensive. To quote Kitaue:

"I don't expect a substantial impact … With $500, you can buy a personal computer."

With such insight of Sony's price drop, Kitaue feels Konami may have "to take some steps" in regards to Metal Gear Solid 4 being a Playstation 3 exclusive to help recoup losses and avoid not making a profit. Whether or not Kitaue's words have any truth to them is to be seen in the coming months as the Playstation 3's price, though still expensive, may be a bit friendlier to the customer who's longed to have one.

It's kind of like beating a dead horse, but where do you stand on Metal Gear Solid 4?

This is what I think will happen. Konami will annouce that game is shipping in March ‘08 for the Playstation.

But tonight Peter Moore will roll up his sleeve and show off a Fox Hound tattoo (or just MGS4) and announce that game is coming to Xbox 360 in September 2008 with exclusive online content (i.e multiplayer like MGS3 had).

Look at our bad boy Raiden :) Either system is fine by me, personally I still prefer the traditional PS controller, maybe they would find some use for the sixaxis again.
