Marathon, Sonic and War World coming to Xbox Live ArcadeDuring the Microsoft press briefing a montage of footage was shown with some of this year’s Xbox Live Arcade titles. Every Extend Extra Extreme and Space Giraffe had quick clips along with Hexic 2, which looks like it has a multiplayer mode.

Other games in the trailer were:

War World – A mech combat game

Genoc – a puzzle game with a rotating cube

Spyglass Board Games – a collection of board games like checkers and chess with the Xbox Live Camera

Word Puzzle – sort looks like multiplayer boggle

Switchball – like Super Monkey Ball minus the monkeys

Marathon Durandal – now officially confirmed

Up on Xbox Live Arcade now are the first two titles in the Sega Vintage series, Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe.

Well now here’s the million dollar question. How much will the Genesis games cost on Live and are Virtual Console consumers getting f#@$% by paying $8 US per game?

Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe are retailing on XBLA for 400 points. A great deal over the Virtual Console releases, considering the added bonuses of leaderboards, achievements, and online co-op for Golden Axe.

golden axe is not the genesis version. it’s the arcade version. it’s a shorter game than the genesis version, but it’s still good, and it sure is pretty. 5 bucks to play the game and beat it infinitely is reasonable to me. i would happily spend 5 bucks playing golden axe in the arcade with a friend, same for tmnt, so it was a no-brainer on 360.
