Unfortunately Trauma Center: New Blood was not playable at E3. The game is still in development, but Atlus USA is already working on localizing Trauma Center: New Blood for North America. They plan to do a dual release, Japan and the USA, this holiday season.
The story takes place ten years after the events with Derek Styles with a team of two new doctors Marcus and Valerie. GUILT isn’t part of the storyline, but there will be atypical, sci-fi like operations in New Blood. Also there are not any details about gameplay changes other than the addition of two player co-op. During multiplayer surgeries you can tell one person to handle the left side of tumors while you work on the right. Or you can be more strategic and have one person focus on draining all of the tumors while the other player cuts them out with the scalpel. There’s some flexibility here and players aren’t forced to take turns.
Atlus is putting extra polish on Trauma Center: New Blood’s presentation by adding in 16:9 widescreen, 480p, online leaderboards and fully voicing it.
During the talk it’s clear that Atlus has a strong commitment to the Trauma Center series, it’s regarded as high as their Shin Megami Tensei franchise. When I asked them if Trauma Center would ever return to its home, the Nintendo DS, I was told it’s possible. And for Trauma Center fans you might see a cameo in New Blood.
Now to the reader questions. On Princess Crown for the PSP I got a “no comment” response. For Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations on the PS2 I was told there is a slim possibility it might come out. A slim chance is still a chance. If you want to see it happen make lots of noise for Super Robot Taisen.
if they localize OGs, i hope they keep the japanese audio, english voices aren’t cool enough to express the awesomeness of the japanese seiyuu
*Waits patiently for his copy of OGs.*
Don’t fail me now, Atlus, we have faith in you.
They don’t even have to dub. All we need is to be able to read it and buy it somewhere. Hell, I know a rather large handful that either already had it imported, or at least would buy it despite not being able to read a damn word.
… Not that I’d know anything about that regarding J and W or anything… *hides DS behind back*
I’m glad they’re doing a full voice-over for the Trauma Center sequel, the first game felt awfully quiet and not as exciting w/ only a handful of phrases repeating.
W/ Original Generation and Persona 3, I’d probably be importing both to listen to the original dialogue. The Jpn audio for OG definitely needs to stay if it’s being brought over here, the cutscenes w/ full voice-overs are the epitome of mecha anime.
Get rid of all of the licenses and the pretty midget mech animations from the Super Robot Taisen games and all you’ll have left is a bunch of generic strategy riffraff. Why so many people go gaga over the series, i’ll never know.
EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA LOVES SUPER ROBOT TAISEN GAMES ATLUS PLEASE RELEASE IT IN NORTH AMERICA I GUARUNTEE THAT IT WILL SELL MILLIONS SO MANY PEOPLE ALREADY LOVE THIS SERIES!!
HOLY SH**…. O.o
THERE’S GONNA BE ANOTHER TRAUMA CENTER GAME?!?!?!?!?!?
SHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE tell me I’m not dreaming…
I hope Derek-chan looks as hot as he did in the first two. And he BETTER not end up with Angie or else… >.
Atlus please bring Super Robot Wars Original Generations to America.

So who should I email at Atlus to “make lots of noise” for Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations on the PS2?
And Spencer, thanks for always doing an awesome job at E3. You always cover the great games that other gaming sites usually pass up. I also appreciate you respresenting the fans by asking our questions.
Thanks again man.
