Will Microsoft ever publish AO games?

Will Microsoft ever publish AO games? In a conversation I had with Peter Moore the short answer is “no”. How come? “Because we have a policy. At some point you have to draw the line. You can argue where the line needs to be drawn, but a line needs to be drawn. Our policy is we will publish any game the ESRB orders as an M rated game. We stand by that, protect that, but AO we believe over steps the line that we have drawn.”

I don’t care for Manhunt 2, but it doesn’t deserve an AO rating especially since Manhunt 1 was rated M. The sequel can’t be that much different and from I’ve seen of the first Manhunt was on par with a R rating of modern horror films.

Why the hell have this AO rating, then? If it just means games being banned…

Also, AO means 18+ which “should” equal the PEGI 18+ which all those console manufacturers authorise here in Europe.

Seriously, there’s something so not logic in all that crap, and allowing 17+ (M Rated) and not 18+ (AO Rated)… well, 1 year difference for this so called Line to be drawn, get real ppl !!

Very true about the 1 year thing.

I’m sure that when you were 17, you were already doing the things that an 18 year old was doing.
