Guitar Freaks V3 & DrumMania V3 due out in October

Poor Konami they were sitting on a major hit and they never gave it much attention. Guitar Freaks V3 & DrumMania V3 has elements of the hotly anticipated Harmonix game, Rock Band. It even comes out around the same time and has a fanbase! The differences are it doesn’t include karaoke or have a blessing from MTV. Oh yeah it’s for Japan only too. Imagine how things would have been different if Konami jumped the gun and released a guitar game in the US before Guitar Hero. Instead of rocking out to 80’s songs we all might be playing synth-pop songs and drumming to J-Pop in one of Konami’s games. Guitar Freaks V3 & DrumMania V3 is due to come out on October 4^th and it has a total of 70 songs to master.

if guitar freaks had used actual guitar songs rather than whatever was left over from pop n music, they might have had some success outside of the japanese arcade scene.

Well, bout time they're even releasing more games on the PS2. It took them forever to even do that in Japan, much less bring it over to the US to get localized. They totally jacked up. They had rockbandish 4 player (Guitar Freaks/Drummania/Keyboardmania) co-op play since 2000...................... Konami actually tried to bring Guitar Freaks to US arcade but did not localize the game at all......

Had they made these games more accessible in the states, I would've bought them. Konami really has no one to blame but themselves for missing the boat on this one.

That being said I'd still buy it if they released it stateside.

While I do prefer GH's evolution with the 5 buttons and accessible difficulty curve, I still prefer GF's format for 2D scrolling notes down, up.
