On the contrary, Sonic’s first appearance snowboarding was the beginning of Ice Cap Act 1 in Sonic 3. This was later expanded upon in Sonic Adventure’s own Ice Cap stage, where there was a proper mini-game of Sonic snowboarding down a slope trying to evade an avalanche.
