arcsys3.jpgIt looks like Dementium: The Ward isn’t going to be the only touch screen horror game in town. Arc System Works has Apathy: Narugami Gakuen Toshi Densetsu Tantei Kyoku set for this October. You play as a student in Narugami High whose right eye gives him the power of clairvoyance. It’s the perfect set up to make the protagonist a make shift detective who is trying to get the bottom of what is happening in his town. From the screenshots it looks like the game is text heavy, but there are some unique twists. When characters lie to you they have a black aura and when they speak the truth a red aura surrounds them. There are also branching story points, which might increase replay value too.

It would be nice if they would translate these, there’s been 3 or 4 new DS detective games announced and coming from Japan. I recently played through the fan-translated Famicom Detective Club 2 for SNES and liked it very much.

The DS and survival horror, who knew?

Spencer Says:

@Jeremy - if anyone is going to bring this over it’s Aksys. They have a strong relationship with Arc System Works.
